"Initially, I signed up for this course simply to be able to charge parents a fee when they desired me to provide interview coaching and mentorship. It was my belief that unless I was “certified” in some way, I could not ask a parent to pay for mentorship since people usually took on mentees as a voluntary and free act of kindness. What I discovered through this course far exceeded my expectations. While I have been exposed to my share of Gen Z students in this coaching role, I can honestly say that I didn’t understand the depth and the complexities of the demographic and what their drivers and obstacles were. This course forced me, in every module, to take a deeper dive into topics that helped me to understand people as a whole as well as my target demographic. I honestly could not have accurately anticipated what this course would offer. I didn’t have any goals set for the course at the outset other than completing it in the same manner I have completed my other PARWCC certification, by submitting some open-book essays at the end of an asynchronous course. This experience with CSCC with a live, real-time format where we engaged in breakout sessions, active participation during and after the videotaped session, and the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with you, the professor, as many times as we could fit into the month was AMAZING! The optional exercises were the ones that challenged me the most to really do a deep dive into topics that would help my coaching practice from the client-facing deliverables to the business side of the practice. Engaging in the optional exercise to create a profile of Gen Z, my target demographic, was so insightful and necessary to progression. I am not sure how I intended to serve them effectively without first doing this type of research and profile creation. I am most grateful for that “optional” exercise and completing that exercise. I am proud of accomplishing the completion of that exercise and all of the course requirements in spite of the delay in my submissions. I could have taken the fast route and skipped the optional exercises but, instead, I chose to complete 3 out of 4 exercises and they proved to be the areas where I learned the most. Thank you Dr. Saunders for this thoughtful and challenging program! I can imagine the sleepless nights, countless hours of research, and hours of organization spent putting together this comprehensive course. My goal before the end of 2024 is to really do a deep dive into those articles, podcasts, and videos of interest provided in this course, to deepen my understanding of how I can best serve my clients. This course and the materials provided are invaluable. I am so grateful for your willingness to share your expertise with us! I feel among the elite after completing this coursework! Thank you again for creating this course and making it affordable for coaches who just want to get better (whatever their reasons initially 🙂).
